ShopAdvisorAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use shopadvisorai.com, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

The short version: we don't store your conversations, we don't require an account, and we don't sell your data.

1. Information we collect

a) Conversation messages

When you chat with ShopAdvisorAI, your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. These messages are transmitted in real time and are not stored on our servers. Your conversation exists only in your browser session and is cleared when you close or refresh the page.

Anthropic may retain message data per their own Privacy Policy.

b) Product search queries

When we search for real-time product prices (powered by SerpAPI), a product search query derived from your preferences is sent to their service. SerpAPI handles this data per their own Privacy Policy.

c) Server logs

Like all web servers, ours may log standard technical information: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used solely for security monitoring and diagnosing technical issues. We do not use them to identify or track individual users.

• We do not collect your name, email, or contact information (unless you email us directly)
• We do not store conversation history between sessions
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
• We do not use your data to train AI models

ShopAdvisorAI does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use minimal technical cookies required by the web framework (Next.js) for basic functionality. No cookie consent banner is shown because no personal data is collected via cookies.

Since we do not store conversations or personal data on our servers, there is no user data to delete. Conversation history lives only in your browser's session memory (React state) and is automatically cleared when you close or refresh the page.

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes, then automatically deleted.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy regulations. Since we collect minimal data, most rights are automatically satisfied. If you have a specific request (e.g. access to server log data), contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

ShopAdvisorAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of ShopAdvisorAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
